Present Perfect and Present Perfect Continuous Tense

 ✅ PRESENT PERFECT TENSE

Form: Sub+ has/have + past participle (V3)+ ow
Uses
1. To show an action that has just finished
Examples-
I have just finished my homework.
She has recently bought a new phone.

2. To show an action that happened at an unspecified time in the past
(Time is not mentioned)
Examples -
I have visited Delhi many times.
They have seen this movie before.

3. To show life experiences
Examples -
He has travelled to Japan.
I have never eaten sushi.

4. To show an action that started in the past and continues to the present
(With for and since)
Examples -
I have lived in this city for 10 years.
She has worked here since 2020.

5. To show achievement or completion
Examples-
Scientists have discovered a new species.
The students have completed the project.

✅ PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE

Form: Sub+ has/have + been + V-ing+ ow
Uses
1. To show an action that started in the past and is still continuing
Examples-
She has been studying for two hours.
They have been playing cricket since morning.

2. To show an action that started in the past but has just stopped, and we can see the result
Examples-
I’m tired because I have been running.
Her eyes are red because she has been crying.

3. To emphasise the duration of an activity
Examples-
We have been waiting for you for 30 minutes.
He has been working in this company for 5 years.

4. To express repeated actions until now
Examples- 
He has been calling me again and again.
The baby has been waking up during the night.

Example:
I have painted the room.(Result → The room is painted)
I have been painting the room.(Duration → I started earlier and may still be painting)
